Indiebound.org just updated their book store finder. Pretty awesome resource for yours truly. Now I know where my people are. Thanks Galleycat.

Dragons.
Dragons Trailer from Dragons on Vimeo.
So my buddies made this pilot that was adapted from a short film we made about two or three years ago. Aaaaand it’s pretty much the funniest fucking thing I’ve seen in a long time. Well done boys.
Check out this here trailer. Oh, and put on your chuckle turban cause you’re going to Laffganistan.
Mumble.
Very excited to be getting some cyber ink over at clubmumble.com thanks to current contributor and all-around-good-dude Todd Jordan. Check it out, even though it’s going to eventually re-direct you right back here. Still exciting!
Young Bro Show Number Toe.
Everybody who’s anybody in Orlando is going to be at this show tomorrow night. You really wanna fake your way through that conversation the next day?
“Man, wasn’t it awesome when Alberto did 100 consecutive guitar windmills?” everyone will ask you.
“Um, yeah, pretty awesome,” you’ll reply.
“How about when Josh did that solo that was so potent it got a girl pregnant?”
“Yeah, uh, wow, it was all pretty amazing.”
After everyone stares at you for what feels like forever, they will say, “You weren’t there, were you?”
“No man! I was there. I liked the, um, the glockenspiel parts.”
“Get out of my car.”
Better Book Cover Design of the Week.
Ever wonder if people survive natural disasters and human atrocities by some simple twist of fate or if they make their own luck? So does Ben Sherwood and he wrote all about it in his Tipping Point-esque new book The Survivors Club.
Futura font will forever be synonymous with Wes Anderson films for me, not necessarily a bad thing. And nothing pops like a nice red background. Well done, nameless Grand Central Publishing art director.
Lost and Found.
There’s a new story up over at Annalemma. It’s called Lost and Found. It was written by Thomas Cooper and is accompanied by an illustration by Salamat Ali. It’s one of my favorites. Check it out.
Just got back from AWP and I’m fried. I’ll post pics tomorrow.
Another Wicked Party.
I’m gonna be in Chi this weekend promoting issue #4 at AWP. Come stop by booth 791 and visit me if you’re one of the 23 people living in Chicago who read this blog (Google Analytics knows all). In between not selling anything I’m going to be celebrating Sheebs’s b-day and going to see Joe Meno, ZZ Packer and Dorothy Allison read tomorrow night. Should be a wicked nerdy/fun time. See you there!
Annalemma presents Stories and Songs.
We’re having a party at the end of the month to celebrate the release of issue #4. Everything you need to know is listed above. We’re gonna try to turn this into a monthly event if people like it. Do I even need to ask you to come out? I think we both know the answer to that question.
Better Book Cover Design of the Week.
This is me trying to start a new segment on the blog.
Seems like T.C. Boyle’s latest is getting more attention over a particular review than the actual work itself. His most recent effort chronicles a semi-fictionalized life of Frank Lloyd Wright. The jacket design seems to subtly take into account Wright’s rigorous and unflinching architectural style while still incorporating some stellar sepia babes. Well done, nameless Viking Penguin designer.
