Shannon Heffernan is a writer and radio producer based in Chicago, IL. She recently finished a fellowship with the Open Society Institute making multimedia documentaries about the impact of prison on families. She is currently working for Front And Center, a new radio project launched by Chicago Public Radio to create long-form radio pieces about the Great Lakes Region.
