Hey Whitney, thanks for your interest. The way I see it Juston has a real playful style in the characters that he illustrates. But there’s always a small sadness to them. That’s the way I saw Ian’s story: playful in style and sad in substance.

You probably should have found a different artist to create an image appropriate for such a lovely, heart wrenching story. I’m perplexed why these two works were paired. I’m fairly disappointed.

The man image is pretty much ridiculous, but quite charming in a bizarre way. Endearing, actually. He’s very, “BAM! What up? Rock’in the beard”. I don’t quite understand the hands, foot, and nose business on the left either. Is he dreaming of becoming a Picasso? That’s pretty cool.
